  1. "Best damn country in the world" Oh my goodness, this generation was so brainwashed. It's like being in an abusive relationship and saying that it's not the abuser's fault and that they're still a great person.

  2. It is encouraging to hear that a 79-year-old can still cut it.
The problem is this youth-oriented culture and the corporate world in which people are always replaceable when it comes to the bottom line. Profits over people!

  3. Best advice for seniors looking for new jobs.

Just like people eat with their eyes, they also judge people with their eyes.

Biggest concern for employers usually is can this older person do the job; especially if its a labor intensive job.

So get in shape, work out, dress the part, and look the part. Look and be healthy.

  4. I guess I was lucky. I was 53 when I was hired at my last job. Stayed 13 years and retired. I was also lucky that at the time my company decided to lay off many of the same people in my type of job so I was able to get a separation package which helps in my retirement. Unfortunately many of the other workers that got laid off where too young to retire and had to try to find new jobs in the same field. Also the job I had is becoming a thing of the past.

  5. You got to learn Twitter, LinkedIn and Facelift. 🙂 With me, when I retire there will be no way I can reverse that. I have a good job now, but if I retire and have second thoughts, what will be left for me is either the greeter or cashier at Walmart.
