They should have far more appropriate Leotards. Probably another rule come up with by some pervert. I told my daughters gymnastics coach… when she was in it. My daughter will not perform with some Leotard up her butt, it did not work out for us with gymnastics. I never noticed it in elite until, now

10. The gymnastics, cheerleading, etc industries treat athletes as if they are disposable. Coaches will literally tell you while you're training that you are replaceable aka disposable and expect that to 'motivate' the athlete. This culture has gone past bullying and is just down right abusive at almost every level.

Maybe the female athletes should consider dropping out of USA Gymnastics and not participating until everything is solved to their collective satisfaction. No Tokyo and beyond might get the attention of USA Gymnastics and the USOC.

32. USA Gymnastics and the USOC should write a handbook on “How Not to Handle a Scandal.” Pretty much every move they’ve made is the opposite of what they should have done. It’s the most atrocious decision making I’ve seen again and again for years. None of this has been about a sincere reckoning of the sport and bringing to account the people who looked the other way and facilitated people like Nassar to abuse children. This all has been an exercise in saving the organization. Aly is completely right: They’re trying to make this go away and hope that the girls can help them erase this from collective memory at the Olympics. For shame

33. Poor poor Simone. She’s definitely a survivor but she can’t declare it or else USA Gym won’t let her go to the Olympics. I’m 100% sure they made her sign some sort of waiver. She and MaKayla are the last two gymnasts left from the last Code, and they just have to suffer silently unless they want to get kicked out of the program. To me, Simone (or any current elite gymnast) not declaring herself a survivor is the biggest sign that USA Gym is trying to cover up how bad it is

39. All of this is so sad and breaks my heart. At the same time, I am a realist. Nothing can undo the damage or the sacrifice these gymnasts have made for the sake of the sport and representing our country. Also, nothing is really going to heal the wounds that have been created by the system that has failed them through the USA Gymnastics National Team. There is too much legalese involved to admit culpability on the part of the organization. At this point, the best we can do is to do better moving forward. The powers that be are too strong in the sports and entertainment sector for any real consequences for those who enabled the abuse.

40. Let’s be honest here: we know Steve Penny shredded any proof long ago. Didn’t they catch him doing it? It is a cover up and there is a top ranking official in USAG who KNEW all of it and ignored it. Jordyn Wieber mentioned that several years ago. She said the one who knew all about it was still in power so I’m guessing that person is still running the show. I feel for these ladies. Know that the longtime fans will continue to support you and your fight. We’ve got your backs ladies. Too many of us have been down this road. It’s like a war on women. Sad.

Guess what, their sport won’t be relevant anymore if people don’t feel safe putting their kids into the sport. Protect the sport? No protect the people who MAKE the sport, a sport first.

Nearly everyone was fired , new policies and procedures were put in place, Nassar is in jail for the remainder of his life, and the victims were all encouraged to speak about their abuse literally hundreds of times so this can better be prevented from happening again. Now the victims are offered money and it's seen as a "cover-up"? LARRY NASSAR touched these girls and has been punished. These girls need to get off TV complaining about a organization that no longer exists (just has the same name) and live life as a FORMER victim and not a daily victim. Get a big girl job and take that stupid thing off your head, Aly. You're 25. Grow up.
