An upgrade for U.S. airports

24

Travelers aren’t complaining about layovers at Singapore’s Changi Airport (consistently ranked the best in the world) thanks to its movie theaters, rooftop pool, hot tub, and butterfly garden. Yet in the United States, there isn’t an airport within the Top 30 of the World’s Best Airports. Kris Van Cleave looks at efforts to update America’s air terminals in such major cities as Los Angeles, Chicago and Salt Lake City, and talks with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo about his ambitious, multi-billion-dollar effort to modernize New York City’s notoriously antiquated LaGuardia Airport.

  1. We don't need distractions at airports, we need an air transit system that is efficient, reliable, and gets you where you're going on time. Want to improve the passenger experience? Keep passengers from having to spend so much time at airports!

PS: All these "experiences" and "amenities" cost money, which airports pass on to airlines, then airlines pass on to passengers.

  2. 😩" ' PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS! ' …. Not everywhere needs or will get a Changi-style airport. Regardless, the answer for the USA isn't as simple as just saying ' rebuild our airports ' . Why? For one, not every U.S. region has a local or regional airport. Most that do still lack abundant flight service unlike the major hubs. Like it or not, ' Uncle Sam ' will only do so much despite the bipartisan Infrastructure package. If our communities want updated airports, then it's far past time for our local private sectors to get more directly involved. Otherwise, little to nothing will change. We the People endlessly complain about raising taxes and the airlines won't pay for improvements outside the profitable major hubs they serve. Therefore, Who's going to pay for the rebuilding? "

  3. American 🇺🇸!!!

    Airport industry need the following!!!

    Security on there network infrastructure!!!
These monies have been allocated from previous presidents before Trump Barack Obama Bush Trump and now everybody wants more money thrown!!!
Our future children are gonna be paying for this and this is where I say we have no plan with this president when it comes to fixing things in a proper correct common sense in logical way!!!
    Wake Up American 🇺🇸!!!
    God bless Us All!!!

  4. It's not just airports. International Airliners are also way better than the American ones. US Airliners are a joke compared to the products offered by airliners outside the United States.

  5. If you want to see some of the most beautiful terminals in the world, go look at the American train stations. They are wonderful and they were built by the railroads, not by tax payers dollars. The tax subsides of the government to aviation have destroyed the railroad infrastructure.

  6. I’ve been to O’hare and LA’s airport those are the coolest I’ve been to. They are awesome and so huge. They have like there own mall it is insane. I love airports I didn’t know people were complaining and thought it was bad.
