So that whoever repents of their sins and puts their faith and trust in Jesus christ as lord and savior, will be saved from the judgment of hell and will have everlasting life with God for eternity.     Under ancient Egyptian belief selection for entry into paradise was decided by examining the conduct of each individual towards his fellow man during his lifetime. Was he cruel, corrupt and covetous? Or, was he kind, honest and generous? Salvation meant a heavenly afterlife.

    Mosaic Law, which was a form of military-like discipline, turned questioning of the deceased, in order to determine his character, into commandments to be obeyed during his lifetime. It was a path towards achieving a social/political objective. Outward appearance was all that mattered while attributes of the heart were ignored. An evil man could attain salvation by merely complying with the law. Salvation was the promise of a paradise-like existence during ones life on earth.

    Christians have faith that they will be saved if they believe in Jesus. According to Jesus, complying with the law is of no avail if it conceals an evil heart. A desire to benefit ones fellow man that is genuine arises from within. Good, for entry into Heaven, is separated from evil, corresponding to ancient Egyptian belief. Christian hope is of defeating death in the grave and enjoying a resurrection of life on earth.

    There is a distinction between believing in Jesus himself (as the ultimate scapegoat) for man’s sins and acknowledging that his teachings prescribe the path to Heaven. Jesus, a descendant of Jesse, states that he is a son of man.

    Christian Zionists insult Jews when they invoke Jesus who does not meet the requirements for being the messiah. The expectation is that the messiah will be a warrior, like David, that extinguishes their enemies, leading to a profligate, degenerate life of luxury with the others serving them.

    12 I will send fire on Teman
    that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.”

    13 This is what the Lord says:
    “For three sins of Ammon,

    Because he ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead
    in order to extend his borders,

    14 I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah
    that will consume her fortresses
    amid war cries on the day of battle,
