‘Bloodbath’: Left-wing media slammed after taking Donald Trump’s comment out of context

Former US president Donald Trump has been heavily criticised by left-wing media following a comment he made during a campaign speech.

Trump appeared in Dayton, Ohio, where he delivered a speech on Saturday to his supporters ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

During his speech, the former president mentioned it would be a “bloodbath” for the auto industry if he did not win the November election.

“Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole, that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories,” he said.

The bloodbath term Trump referred to was “a major economic disaster,” a definition provided by Merriam-Webster.

Following his speech, the former president was slammed by numerous news organisations after they took his comments out of context.

NBC News, New York Times and Politico posted articles on Trump’s “bloodbath” comment without giving the proper context.

Following the release of their articles, the news organisations were slammed online, with millions viewing tweets from Elon Musk and End of Wokeness.

  14. this will be happening all thru 2024.. the liberal msm will do this time and again.. when the left uses the same language, they ignore it. they understand the context. when Trump says it they simply edit the clip or don't show it at all and claim he is saying one thing and conflate it with another , ie illegal immigration etc .. Trump rightly calls the violent killers and robbers "animals" but the liberal msm will try and use it so it applies to EVERY migrant. they have been doing this for years. On some of the channels who are ranting about the 'Bloodbath' – I tried to post a cut and paste from the Merriam Webster dictionary where it gives the definitions of the word 'Bloodbath' – and one of them is 'Economic disaster' (Google it, don't take my word for it…) But, the Channel owners either delete it or shadow ban me. Or usually both.

  28. OK, yes, out of context but he did tell his followers to, quote, “fight like hell” and come
    Jan 6 they did. Did they care it was out of context? no. Did they care his words may have been misconstrued? no.
    Did his supporters carry weapons, yes. Was there loss of life? yes
    So hopefully they don’t see a “Bloodbath” as a right to violence.

  30. In my opinion after listening to the speech and then hearing the word bloodbath I believe he used it in the business context which is defined as a period of disastrous loss. Did I miss something do they really believe he means a literal loss of life or this just an excuse to belittle his campaign.

  39. The more the Radical Left continues to push forward with their dishonest tactics to keep Trump out of office, the more they I am encouraged to vote for the guy. I originally wasn't planning to vote for him and go Independent (again), but maybe this time may consider so as to give the message that I am sick of these scummy clown world antics.
