Can This $22 Billion Megaproject Make Nuclear Fusion Power A Reality?

24

Fusion is the process that powers the sun and the stars, and scientists are getting a lot closer to replicating it here on Earth. ITER, the $22 billion dollar international fusion megaproject in the south of France, is the most well-funded endeavor, paid for by the governments of its member nations. But VC’s and private investors are also pouring money into fusion start-ups, with hopes to commercialize fusion power within the next decade. With a number of breakthroughs already this year, the race is on to prove that fusion power is not only possible, but integral to a clean energy future.

  1. ITER is a colossal waste of money. It will not succeed to generate any significant excess energy relative to the overall energy consumed by the facility by a factor of 100 to 1000 times. There will also be neutron embrittlement issues and nuclear waste from radioactive chamber components. What a dud !

  2. It’s known fussion just doesn’t work . Billions spent and time wasted .
Should this effort would have been focused to fission , we would have had a much more efficient scalable fission nuclear plants .

Sustained controllable comercial fussion is like the Big Bang theory .
It just doesn’t work , is the wrong theory , wrong approach

  3. Dosen't work, no one will heat water in capilar plates to fill the gigant volumen of 160C° try Steam on a Siemens Steam-Turbine. So no one can use the bit heating to do anthing with em.

  4. Today I saw a jet in sky of CDA Sector 13 cuttack Odisha. When I constantly looked at it was broken into two parts.Thebsecond part died out. The first part went with flares and a light point at head. Again when I constantly looked at it the flares died and the light point escaped. The light point went down and was trapped with a finger like light boardered shaped creature with right eye as the shining point. Again when I looked at it the black boardered shape vanished and perhaps the light point was free. It gave me a lot of stress to watch continuously and perhaps as it was no longer in black boardered finger I left

  5. It's too bad that scientists are hiding that nuclear fusion always have caused radiation in all technology. Solar panels, the sun charges the whole entire planet. The pyramids already had electric grids using copper, wireless radio waves technology, the sun powered the entire pyramid. Circuit boards came from the pyramids. You see wireless as the God Aten, sharing wireless rays to the planet, so wireless is old. We cry about Cancer. Mammograms microwaving women's breast and All xrays machines are changing your DNA, ruptures the cells, not to mention processed and GMO foods on top of that, it changes the cells too. Takes 3 months for your cells to regrow to new cells. There are many ways to get energy and the SUN can power up the entire planet easy with solar panels, no electric bill, free energy. No need to fight for oil, or coal, water for currency electricity is another option. Energy crisis solved.

  6. I AM very interested in what you all know about it 🤔
    Some knowledge share pls?

Also im interested on what you all know how our star work's.
    More specificaly.
    Data only.
