Could Scott Peterson win a new murder trial? | Banfield

Scott Peterson, convicted in the killings of his wife and unborn son in 2004, has new court dates set 20 years later as the Los Angeles Innocence Project takes on his case. A judge has now allowed his case to move forward, with Innocence Project lawyers saying there’s new evidence that deserves a closer look. Retired Modesto Fire Department Inspector Bryan Spitulski tells “Banfield” that van evidence related to the case was mishandled. Mark Geragos, Peterson’s trial attorney in 2004, also weighs in.
