U.S. antitrust law dates back to 1890, but it’s been largely out of the spotlight for twenty years. Now, with antitrust concerns swirling around Big Tech companies and major telecommunications mergers, it’s back. Watch this video to find out how US antitrust law evolved and what it means for America’s biggest businesses.

Google, Facebook, Amazon And The Future Of Antitrust Laws
source
As usual, the government is decades late to the party.
So sorry from our side
Huge disappointment for entire chatterjees
I feel like it should be more antitrust laws for these new big companies and great video CNBC :]
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO😊
Watching this after Covid and knowing that it has only gotten worse 😂
Clickbait
Im beginning to realize that the government don't run America the corporations run America
Let’s get this to most like comment!!!😂👣🫀👁️👅👁️
What is these companies market share? That’s a big question, and probably the first one that comes. FTC as well as some members of Congress estimate that Amazon’s market share exceeds 65%, despite there being other, lower, estimates published online… I tend to believe FTC. Amazon completely dominates the online marketplace.
FTC claims that anti discounting practices by Amazon undermine competition, and directly hurt consumers. However, the evidence to that is still classified. Hence, it’s hard to say at this time how successful the Amazon case will be, at least in terms of anti discounting, which directly affects consumers and competition.
Hello CNBC! I think you forgot Comcast. Wonder why? Maybe just an honest oversight. My apologies.
Is this video a joke? The media needs to be broken up. The US Federal Government, and state and local governments should fear and respect the general public (excluding criminal acts), corporate and financial interests should fear and respect the government that represents the public. Public respects the laws that reflect the public interest. Not happening at this time in the West. CNBC discussing this topic is like asking a hungry fox to be in charge of a henhouse. Childish journalism here.
I need help with Facebook and Google I'm tired of the harassment
It's genuinely maddening that the current standard is restricted to only "consumer harm" like that's the only type of way a monopoly can cause harm. Look at big poultry, who control the market through buyers power and run uncontested regional monopsonies. They harm farmers by getting to dictate how they raise the chickens, what and even how much they get to feed them, and at the end of the day they pay them just enough to service their loans but never enough to get ahead. But according to the Supreme Court of the late 70s, that's not a good enough reason to break up a corporation.
Nobody is trying to fix the root problems we have in this country. Everyone is trying to make enough money so that the problems don't apply to them.
We need to get rid of anti-trust laws. I can't expand my own corporate empire to a sufficient amount with them in my way.
Can the consumer trust said company is the guiding rod?
MONOPOLIES may be Equated with Government as OBJECTIVES of both are intended be for COMMON GOOD but may be MISUSED by those in POSITIONS OF POWER who may (before coming to power) PROMISE to ACT FOR COMMON GOOD but may later let PERSONAL GREED FOR WEALTH SUPERCEDE their earlier Promises.
PROBLEM IS NOT WITH SYSTEM OF MONOPOLIES BUT THOSE IN POSITIONS OF POWER WHO LET THEIR GREED TO DICTATE AND DISCHARGE OF THEIR DUTIES – FUNCTIONS – RESPONSIBILITUES
WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN COMPOUNDED BY DESIGNED WEAK ENFORCEMENT AND/OR
NON-DETERRENT PENALTIES.
Bless all
"There's no guarantee that a bunch of our economy's problems would go away if we adhere to antitrust" mhmmm… Sure… I think you're right, we should just let companies continue to do whatever they want including but not limited to maximizing shareholder profits and minimizing worker pay. I think that's a great idea.
MONOPOLIES got CONTROL of Germany bough Hitler to Power and forced virtually the whole world into war –
Kenneth Royall – Secretary of War USA
under President Truman
++++++++
Could the CURRENT MONOPOLIES (especially DEFENCE OIL GAS INDUSTRIES) IN USA BE IN CONTROL OF USA POLITICAL LEADERSHIPS VIA ELECTIONS CAMPAIGNS DONATIONS AND THUS FORCING USA TO BE INVOLVED IN RECENT WARS AS IN AFGHANISTAN IRAQ ETC AND USA MILITARY – FINANCIAL – SANCTIONS POLICIES (AND DICTATING IT'S NATO AND OTHER ALLIES TO COMPLY WITH USA DIRECTIVES) WHICH MAY BE PERCEIVED TO CONTINUANCE OF CONFLICT IN UKRAINE FOR PROFITING IT'S INDUSTRIES WHICH MAY BE PERCEIVED DEFACTO MONOPOLISTIC STATUS?
Bless all

CIA emplyees steal patents for a competitor in a anti trust with the help of schizophrenia symtomos scam to steal with out any pubishment which constitutes a war crime and conspiracy against rights
Democracy is dying…
YouTube started punishing people because they use free speech.
Facebook is banning people for no reason but protects antivaxxers and cults.
Communism is coming back!
Lol what antitrust laws?
Being anti-trust is not a liberal value. Conservatives believe in competition in the market place, and low taxes for business growth. Teddy Roosevelt was a conservative by today’s standards as well.
Thanks for spending the time to create and share this content awareness
Nationalize all these companies and regulate business practice, education and production at national cost repeating the need of evolution as said by Engels"how physical productive labour transformed ape anatomy into human"
