Hamas accepts Gaza ceasefire plan as Israel continues attacks on Rafah | BBC News

Hamas has said that it will agree to a ceasefire deal in Gaza, understood to be based on the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners held in Israel.

However Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the proposed ceasefire “does not meet Israel’s demands” and attacks on the city of Rafah will continue. Israel has ordered one hundred thousand Palestinians to leave the area and bombing of the city has continued.

Mr Netanyahu has agreed to send a delegation to discuss the Hamas ceasefire proposal in more detail. Talks leading to the offer from Hamas have been led by Egypt, with involvement from Qatar.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Fergal Keane, Frank Gardner and Gary O’Donoghue.

  1. BBC IS Zionist channel telling against Hamas but these people could not control the small places yet American allies& 8srael but this war will prolong until America 's & it's allies economy being disaster

  2. This was not the deal called for by Isreal, which was a very reasonable proposal. Instead they tried to slip through a watered down agreement and thought the world would embrace it as they activated their followers to dance in the streets. Not much is being said about the hostages. Everything is just about Hamas.

  3. Dude what isnt Hamas understanding israel doesnt gaf about the hostages, there is no peace plan for them. The IDF keeps saying it over and over they wont stop until hamas is no more. Israel is killing their own hostages and civilians just to kill a couple hamas memebers. And of course Hamas accepted a deal that wasnt made by israel lol.

  4. This how corrupt and controlling the western media are ,its OK for isreal to invade the gaza strip with a special military operation and kill over 30000 civilians but its not OK for Russia to invade Ukraine to protect its russian citizens with a special military operation and since 2014 ,yes 10 years they have only killed 15,000 civilians compared to isreals 30,000 civilians, its total hypocrisy, its a joke !

  5. I trust the BBC category on PrnHub better than I trust the news network. They accepted a Qatar and Egyptian deal, not an Israeli one, they can shake hands all they like. How does the British tax payer put up with their very politicized government funded TV news network?
