Mercedes-Benz is perhaps the biggest name in luxury cars globally, and for countless buyers around the world, it is a car brand to aspire to own. The German automaker has a reputation for superb build quality, excellent engineering, and the bragging rights that its founder Carl Benz invented the first production automobile.
Today, Mercedes-Benz faces a new class of challenges as Tesla has become the aspirational brand for younger consumers. There is a slew of other EV hopefuls vying for the next generation’s aspirational vehicle’s mantle. Automakers have had to sink billions into new technologies and contend with a new crop of competitors in the critical Chinese market and around the world.

How Mercedes-Benz Is Losing Its Prestige Image
source
If there’s Asians in the Mercedes engineering, assembling, developing, etc. that car: Mercedes it’s not a German car anymore. Automatically Mercedes becomes in Asian vehicle.
The title really is a scam, its not at all about how Mercedes is loosing its image, but more about how it can loose market share
I loved Mercedes until around 2000. It was then that my cars began to require repairs that took weeks to resolve. I got fed up with the constant return trips to the dealership as their service department bungled their way to a proper diagnosis and resolution. I lost all confidence in the cars, especially when a couple road trips were ruined by breakdowns. Matters were further worsened by the haughty attitude of Mercedes personnel, who often acted like I was stupid for not understanding the “complexity” of their vehicles.
Long life Toyota
Nazi car
As a BMW owner who has never even thought of owning a benz, this was a terrible video and the title is not true at all. Mercedes still has a great image by almost everyone i know.
I do t trust anything coming out of the Alabama plant
Mercedes lost their mojo years and years ago. Its last good yrars were mid 1990's when bean counters took over their car engineering.
Well done video. I agree with most of the point made
Clickbait huh
CNBC and it's mainstream media lies and jealousy.😏
Lexus is crap, I’d go BMW or Mercedes Benz over Lexus – any day
Stop putting Nissan engines in the car. I will never buy another one till you stop the production of cars with bad Nissan engine. 😢
wtf is that title???

Crapping out at 70k miles (even w/ regular maintenance) is not worth buying, and not my kind of prestige…
Mercedes-Benz is losing its prestige because its interior quality is going downhill and they are too lazy to improve their exterior design, even the brand-new S-Class looks outdated, like a car from ten years ago.
would never buy a crappy car like a benz or bmw, own a lexus like no other, u pay 120k for a benz in 5 yrs worthless scrap metal
Lost their prestige because lost their essence , car designs seems more a kia or Hyundai but more expensive and components lower in quality..
