Maine Democrats Fight BACK, Threaten Nebraska GOP

1. What would you think if every state did it Nebraska and Maine's way? That would help the Republicans because most states would split their congressional electors pretty close to evenly but the majority of the states would give their two at large to Republicans because more states vote Republican than vote Democrat. Also this would vastly increase the power of the three electoral votes (who are already overly powerful in this system) because they would be the only states that would be guaranteed to throw 100% of their electors to one candidate.

   The 3-0 vote from Wyoming would be better than a 3-1 vote from a 4 electoral state, and pretty much just as good as a 4-1 from a 5 electoral state or a 4-2 or 5-2 vote from six or seven vote states. It is probably best if both states went to winner take all.

2. This seems to be based in a bill that is circulating and being enacted by a lot of state houses to bypass the electoral college (which is horribly undemocratic). These states are agreeing to give all of their electoral votes to whichever candidate wins the POPULAR VOTE (which IS democratic). Urge your state to do so if it has not already.

7. now this is the main reason the Nebraska GOP didnt go through with that reform and its why it wont happen. Because Maine will follow suit instantly, cancelling each others' effects out making the whole thing pointless. Both states though abosoutely love the idea of keeping their single votes as it draws way more attention and consideration of them, so I'm not really gonna pay attention to this at all.

8. I wouldn't hate it if all states broke down into districts with points representing the population in the districts so essentially it's just a popular vote that counts except in the rarest of circumstances. If Republicans had to appeal to most Americans, we'd have a less insane Republican party.

10. When Democrats changed voting rules halfway in to 2020, without going through the legislative process, rules which ultimately cost Trump his re-election, everybody was ok with it. Including the idiots in Maine.
    But, now that the Nebraska wants to change the rules legally by going through the legislative branch (as is outlined in their State Constitution), now it's wrong and unfair?

    Biden wins 226 electoral votes
    Trump wins 235 electoral votes
    77 electoral votes narrowly expected to go to Trump bringing his number up to 312. But I do think Joe Biden wins the popular vote by a margin of 1-3%. Which depending on turnout could equal millions more raw votes nationwide for Biden even if he loses the election.

22. Maine has had some Ws recently. They also voted to join the National Popular Vote interstate compact which uses a constitutional loophole to make the electoral college obsolete if enough states worth 270 electoral college votes join.

    But hopefully we abolish the electoral college altogether soon
