7. Stationed in Yongsan for nearly 2 years. ('68-'70) Loved being there. I only wish I could visit the area one more time before I kick the bucket.

8. I was stationed at Camp Page in Chuncheon, in 2002. It has since been demolished. I remember passing through Camp Stanley.

12. Time for S Korea to break alliance with the US which was no help at all during Yeong pyong island bombardment. Washington prohibited S Korea to use its own F15K. This is why KFX program is more important than ever. Russia is more in line with S Korean defense policy than the US. Russia is also helping S Korea with rocket technology which the US interfere with S Korean rocket program and nuclear program.

15. I served my military service in the Yongsan garrison as a KATUSA. I liked the ambiance of the garrison. Even now, I missed it. Everyone – American and Korean soldiers and their family members, public workers and contractors and other international members for UN Command – was like ONE BIG FAMILY in the garrison.

    In this moment, I feel how lucky Koreans have the garrison in the mid of Seoul! Now it turns to green zone for the metropolitan!
    I wish the barrack I stayed could remain and reuse it for some facilities.

22. I am sure Yongsan has been compromised for years. It is too close to the front. It would be severely pounded by NK artillery. NK has some serious artillery and Seoul will be in chaos very quickly. Their artillery is shielded on the north slope of mountains just north of the DMZ. It will have to be taken out fast. And it won’t be easy.
