Pro-Palestine activists cause chaos as they descend on the Met Gala

Thousands of demonstrators marched through Manhattan in an attempt to disrupt Vogue’s Met Gala.

Protesters have been filmed chanting anti-Israel messages, blocking traffic and setting off flares on Monday evening.

Dozens of activists were arrested outside the event.

Protesters have been criticised online for attempting to disrupt the fund-raising event.

“These people have no interest in democracy,” one user wrote on X.

Another wrote: “We must jail these rioters. It’s time for accountability New York!”

  5. Why are people stressing out and what is she talking about when she said "escalating"? This looks like a normal protest and they didn't even show any kind of vandalism or something? This is probably the worst propaganda ever made. Their ENTIRE point is: OMG they are protesting! And disturbing the traffic and normal live of the people there by walking around and blocking the roads! (Which btw is the point of any protest. Which is allowed in a democracy.) And that one guy at the fence even apologized for a fellow protestor that pushed it aside- you can see the apology written all over him (very correct fellow) – which is probably the most violent this protest was. Otherwise they would have shown it.

    These students are acting like this because they have empathy for people facing inextricable trauma, murder through extermination and evisceration of their culture. All due to the desperate Zionist , colonialist govt setting their own agenda with total disregard for the very laws which were drawn up to honour Jews (and other minorities) which were heinously exterminated during WWII. Hamas (who were initially engineered into power by the Zionists to replace the PLO/Fatah), are desperate to retain their authority and position and consequently the innocent suffer beyond all reckoning and so it seems disregarded by many in the West that lack empathy.
