In the near future, there’s a good chance quantum computers will be a game changing technology for humanity. The industry is still in its early stages, with computer scientists around the world as well as technology giants such as IBM and Google working to develop them. So what exactly makes them different from our current computers and mobile devices? Jessica Pointing, a PhD student and researcher in quantum computing at Stanford University and Forbes 30 Under 30 alumni, explains the basics.

Usless info. Misleading title
I am something of a quantum scientist myself.
Psyops, given the number of videos, reddit, 4chan posts etc. it all heavily suggests a deliberate and long term plan to disrupt digital media. Plus confusion with apparent small changes.
Are you schizo
Can it solve mental illnesses mental disorders ?can it be used to solve this problem ?
Mmmmm…..donuts….
So basically, whoever possesses a powerful enough quantum computer has the power to create catastrophic chaos, destroy their enemies, control/manipulate financial systems, etc. Great.
Dude there might actually be robot people within my lifetime. That's crazy and weird.
ššššššššššššššššššš
"It can help us solve problems faster" but no one ever says how.
Junk science
How do you qualify that the answer it spits out will be correct (all of the time)? ā¦.correct-correct ā¦ not just āIt worksā
So just remember the part when she said that weāre waiting whenever they tell you that they have something theyāve had it for a very long time and theyāve progressed much further than you can realize!
Quantum computers won't change anything because they are way too unstable, what we should be looking at instead is Optical Computing
Yes And Did U Know Theres a Computing Beyond Quantum
A quantum laptop computer, is it still that far away?
Or, smart phone with quantum processors?
Suppose I forgot my passcode, can a Quantum Computer be helpful there?
I wish videos on quantum computing sounded less like they're talking to children or their adult equivalents and more like they're addressing important matters. If a quantum computer can solve problems we can't even think of, maybe don't suggest that a qubit's superposition is like a big, stuffed, spinning, pink-frosted donut and even spin it in front of us. Also, "Jessica" doesn't sound like I'd expect a PhD student to sound unless I assume PhD students to be more paying customers of universities and less people who deserve to study at a university based on their intelligence and drive. The big, stuffed, spinning, pink-frosted donut with her cheerful attitude make it seem like she belongs on a children's show teaching them how to read the hands of a clock.
Finally, someone who knows the things she is talking about.
If atoms used in quantum ionic engine can be added with the technology of data teleportation by the Chinese. We can get a reliable renewable star engine.
The woman at 2:11 looks familiar for some reason
I'm sorry but not even A quantum computer could calculate how gorgeous Jessica is…
Quantum computing is good specially to give the government an edge to discourage and catch hackers and fraudsters as new-age crooks. But developers should not be complacent in showing everything to viewers the mere design, materials and capability are ideas that can be copied by intellectual property thieves to make it easier to have it too. So its fair for tech developers to tell some and to keep some information from others in order to protect and keep their business secrets too. Not to mention people should not rely too much on computers or to exceed with technology; as a golden rule, since excessive dependence can result to people's laziness moreover replace jobs and decision making that should be done by real people.
Great explanation but PLEASE remove the distracting background music.
This is getting scary. Sooner or later some human will become God, then it will be all over. š®
Is it spelt Skynet or Sky Net? F*** messing around with AI. As a species our reach exceeds our grasp.
Reminds me of the Ali G science bit. But can it figure out 10x10x10x9x9x11……. without bl0wing up?
How does the hardware get more powerful ??? I donāt understand how new technology is created
Amen Christ is King Believe in God to have everlasting life in Heaven I believed In God and now I know where I am going when I die I recommend you do so to!
Not just black and white personality correct?
FedNow and CBDC?
Oh my god that black girl explained something!!!? Do you even hear yourselves you are a bunch of virtues signalers who are fake and it sounds racist and fame to say fhis
I don't need little black girls to explain what they dont know just because you want to be woke. When or where does the stupidity stop or is everything just done for political correctness and woke liberal political ideologies. For open minded people you are the raciest and sexiest ones and everyone is getting sick
Love how upbeat she is about all encrypted information being easily revealed in the near future and having no real solution to protect it š
Psi, the wavefunfunction, is understood as matter actually turning into space, and according to CIG Theory. Thus, Superposition is readily understood. So, Quantum Qubits are understood as new space, 0's and 1's. An introduction to CIG Theory can be found by clicking the link above. Thank you for this video. "Let's Go Quantum" !
What exactly is used for? Solve what quicker/easier? This not explained properly
This does absolutely nothing to help me wrap my head around lol I just donāt get how the heck 010101010101 gets us what we get out of a computer š„ļø I really wish I could get a more dummed down version š
