10. "Elite VDV" is an oxymoron, or even a plain oid moron, when applied to russian VDV.
    Russia has been using VDV as shock troops for the last 2 years. They have been thrown into the meat grinder, "reconstituted" and ground up again. Several times. After the first time, they no longer could get the high quality recruits and just used mobilized to fill the holes. They don't have time to train them up to "elite" status. The wiki page lists them being used 4 times in Urkaine.
