The Rise Of 7-Eleven

46

7-Eleven, home of the formerly 64-ounce Double Gulp and the Pina Colada Slurpee, has helped revolutionize the way we shop at convenience stores. In March 2019, the 90-year-old brand launched its first Evolution Store. Featuring fresh food options and specialty alcohol, the new store concept is aimed at a new generation of consumers. And with consumer behavior changing due to Covid-19, the convenience store industry could be on the verge of a profound change.

In California, there are Amazon lockers inside the store.
I like that they let people get free hot water anytime, its great for winter

  4. Americans would not recognize the 7-11 stores in Tokyo, Japan. They sell healthy packaged dinners of "real food" that are made fresh every morning. I actually had freshly prepared fried fish in one location and it was delishous. There is a 7-11 and Lawson's store on almost every block in Tokyo. Contrast that experience to the stores in the U.S. that are gas stations that happen to sell cheap weiners on a bun. Please make the U.S. stores like the ones in Tokyo.

  6. When I was young a little slurpee cost .29 cents. The large now cost $2.69 here in Canada. My Mom would send me for smokes in 1982 and the cost was $1.95 for Players Filter. I've heard they are somewhere around $17.00 + dollars now lol. Sorry but this store is completely out of touch with inflation and extreme markups. I now buy a slurpee every 6 months to a year but only for nostalgia. They would make a hell of a lot more money if they lowered there price to $1. I would be in there every day again. Mike P. @ 109 st Edmonton location "rigged" the Hostess draw box with a WWF Themed shirt for the price, I LOVED IT. Thank You Mike!

  7. I "work" at 7-11. I am supposed to unload trucks and stock shelves. I get 32 hours a week. Of that, I would guess I spend about 8-9 actually unloading trucks and stocking shelves. It's mostly just me and the cashier here so I can be in the back on my own. I play on my phone and occasionally help myself to some chips and beer. It's a wonderful life. I plan to be here forever.

  8. In France, we don't have 7-Eleven, so my first experience with it was in Japan. I was really surprised to learn that it's actually a US chain. But I would be very surprised if the American ones were better than the Japanese ones. I look forward to visiting the USA to find out.
