On May 7th, a potentially deadly situation unfolded in the central United States as intense supercell storms swept through the region, producing tornadoes, giant hail, and damaging winds. A resident lost their life after a devastating tornado in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, destroyed homes and knocked down power lines as it tore through the small town northeast of the city.

The National Weather Service reported that Barnsdall, a city of approximately 1,000 residents located 40 minutes north of Tulsa by car, was ravaged shortly after 10:30 pm by a tornado initially estimated to be an EF-3 or higher
