Though the US has approved a $61 billion aid for Kyiv, the assistance may be a little too late for Ukraine’s outgunned forces trying to prevent Russian advances. Ukraine’s army chief said Kyiv’s position on the frontline had deteriorated and that Russia had made several recent battlefield gains. “The situation at the front has worsened,” said Oleksandr Syrsky, the commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s military, on April 28. A report by The Washington Post said President Volodymyr Zelensky had deceived the public about Ukraine’s actual military losses in the war with Russia. Meanwhile, the US admitted that Russia’s forces were not as depleted as was understood and that Putin’s troops had adapted on the battlefield.

The US was surely aware of the AFU's horrendous losses all along, but simply chose to ignore it because Biden hoped to destroy Russia's economy and military in a protracted and debilitating campaign of attrition ultimately leading to success. If the US had 'evidence' the Chinese, Iranians and North Koreans were helping Russia allegedly, they had to have evidence of Ukrainian losses. It will not be surprising if Zelensky 'goes away' like President Ngo Dinh Diem (South Viet Pres assassinated by CIA led rebel forces) if the US now deems the Zelensky regime to be a liability.

Why does the US need to express concerns and say Kyiv needs to inspire more Ukrainian men to come to the frontlines? If according to Zelensky, the death toll was only 31,000. That means there are still plenty more Ukrainian troops at the frontline.

If Zelensky fails to pull off a peace deal, he risks losing everything! Time is running out fast.. He can't even handle elections, can't even save himself from Ukrainians!
Despite Ukraine's military panic, they still can make a Russian victory a very costly one, due to US aid package. This gives them leverage to negotiate a realistic peace agreement.
Attempting to continuously alarm Europe about Russia getting closer is absurd for multiple reasons, I'll outline a few.
# One of them is that the USSR bordered NATO for 42 years without problem.
# Europe is tired of this expensive war, and Europeans think independently, not merely following their government's lead
