‘US-Israeli relations will never be the same again’: Joe Siracusa

Curtin University Global Futures Dean Professor Joe Siracusa says relations between the United States and Israel have “really broken down” and will “never be the same again”.

It appears that domestic political pressure in the United States has widened the divide between President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“US-Israeli relations have really broken down,” Mr Siracusa told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.

“What’s happened in the last week – the abstaining in the UN Security Council about this ceasefire is the end of the line.

“They have nothing further to talk about, and Netanyahu’s going to do his own thing.

“US-Israeli relations will never be the same again.”

  9. The American people KNOW that Trump is the man that can make things better for our country. I agree that people are tired of the constant bickering and political fights between the Biden administration and Trump, but where this guy goes wrong, along with a lot of other people as well, although people are tired of the political rhetoric and fighting, they’re not sick of Biden and Trump, with the media claiming Trump is just a drama Queen always fighting with his opponents…people are tired of Biden and his administration and they’re tired of the democrats starting all the fights and chaos. We wouldn’t have all the drama if it wasn’t for the left CONSTANTLY pushing trump into corners leaving him no choice but to defend himself. Trump did so many great things (that the left won’t even acknowledge), but imagine how much he could’ve really accomplished if the left would b adults and show some good sportsmanship by standing back and allowing trump to be the president without constantly trying to sabotage everything he does. I mean EVERYTHING! This guy has such an obvious bias against trump it’s hard to take anything he says serious because of the contempt he has for trump, whether he admits that or not.

  13. Such a peculiar historian. One would have thought he might remember the many "end of lines" in which US threw Israel under the bus, starting of course in 1948. American interests – domestic and foreign – have always come first, not "values", "morality" or any other slogans intended to cover up greed, cowardice and convenience. US has betrayed Israel in the 1950s, in and after Yom Kippur war, during the Gulf War, with Iran, and by da facto going back on every reassurance and agreement concerning the treaties with countries bordering Israel. Granted, Netanyahu is the worst possible figure at a time like this, who managed to ruin most good things in Israel. However, the Biden administration is "punishing" the people of Israel, not him personally. America has just declared it is taking Hamas' side, opting for Israel's annihilation, encouraging Hamas, and of course making sure the hostages are never released (American hostages included).
