7. In a normal case with a normal defendant, the plea bargain strategy probably would've come up months ago. Two problems, though, pretty closely related. One is that, to many (rational) voters, a slew of misdemeanor convictions would disqualify him almost as clearly as felonies, because there is the admission of guilt. The second is that Trump himself has too much ego to ever admit to doing anything wrong; it's an all-or-nothing proposition for him. He has to 'prove' that he is right about everything and has never done anything wrong. For both reasons, nothing but beating these charges, probably via mistrial, will suffice.
