We heard the Environment bill on the Senate Floor today, and a DFL Senator offered an amendment that said “there shall be no open season for wolves.” This amendment fails to recognize the negative impacts of wolves – how they have hurt deer populations, how they have moved south, and how they threaten livestock and family pets.
I find it ironic that in previous years, Democrats have spoken against stocking gray wolves in the metro area which proves my point exactly. This is something that needs to be addressed. There’s simply no question in my mind: we should be allowing the DNR to manage a private wolf hunt.
