Palmer Luckey’s defense technology startup, Anduril Industries, is developing products he says the United States needs as a matter of national security. Anduril has already built surveillance systems for military and defense agencies and is now adding a drone-destroying capability to its product line. The company recently secured a contract to deploy its interceptor system in conflict zones overseas. But all of this makes Anduril, and Luckey, highly unusual in the tech industry, which has seen workers openly rebel against any work that would give surveillance capabilities to law enforcement or the military.

Anduril: The Startup Building Surveillance Systems & Drone-Smashers For The Military | NBC News Now
source
finally a report about luckey where he is wearing decent clothes not some flipflops
it's hard to help the government and military with good intentions and then see your inventions being used for evil things
build a fast drone to track and someone else will build one to evade.
Palmer Lucky is the Radest, goateed, Hawaiian shirt wearing weapons manufacturer/defense contractor in the world. Some of these technologies are welcome, & the rest will bring about dystopian killer robot future.
Too much political talks describing technologies.
It usually means BS.
Meredith Whittaker can ** a bag of ****s.
Sounds like a bunch of gosh darn homosexuals if you ask me!!
Are you saying that instead of taking away the ability to even have these type of technology to further destroy mankind is because of people like this who think they are doing something great for our team but is actually giving it to the world 🤦🏾♂️ if we stop funding all militaries around the world there would be no more war if they can’t keep funding to maintenance nuclear bombs why keep them
NBC doesn't' even know the right questions to ask.. very sad
Meredith… She not only sounds an*****g but looks an****g as well.
0ur. Short. Like. 🇫🇷. Boney. Part. En. 🇫🇷. Little. Boots. Lives. And. Rides. Ahhh. Gain. 🇬🇳
the problem is how do you control an autonomous drone after its been given a mission and you wanna cancel the bombing run but your drones controls have been jammed so its going off the last orders it recieved long story shorts war isnt necessarily a job we wanna automate especially with murphys law being put to the test by our enemys.
This isn't new ever for 4 years ago. And ever see what an RF jammer would do to a drone? Apparently not.
This Lucky guy seems nice enough, but his philosophy scares the bejeezus out of me. Clearly he would support any government use of his tech, regardless of his weak protestations to the contrary. Also, I suspect that as long as he makes a buck, whatever Uncle Sam does with his tech is okee-dokee with him. But the reality is that this tech is going to show up more and more in law enforcement and the military, That genie is not going back into the bottle. Hopefully we can keep a lid on the worst abuses inherent in such capabilities.
its is good only temporarily. next time the enemies will make its own bumper and tougher drones..and will invent electronics to fake AI techs.
motive: military contract, the tech is unstoppable, our societies ethics aren't keeping up with the times though. Our "GOD" is money. Military Industrial Complex, so profitable.
Like a prequal to a famous movie series … We'll be seeing more of Mr. Luckey – he'll be back.
You are tony stark iron man😂
Palmer Luckey is such a great dude!
Because poor people are the targets of the rich.
Palmer Luckey is over 6ft, this journalist gotta be over 6’9!!
Skynet, the beginning.
1:44 WHAT are the two oddly shaped objects in the sky to the left of the reporter's head? They sure don't look like drones. Looks like UAPs. Probably swamp gas
Anduril is the name of Aragorn's sword from LOTR – Anduril Flame of the West 🙂
A camera on a pole, a camera on a drone helicopter, what will you invent first next ?
Will it be a camera on a truck or will it be sliced bread ?
very modern
They should now make drones that can detect IEDs using infra red tech ,,this can help our soldiers from stepping on IEDs while doing patrols while in peace keeping missions
Tony Stark
He helps them spy for $
This guy is a sellout and a POS
but his best and most valued asset is, his unstoppable and iridescent vanity
I’m saying if ya put these near me I shooting them down it just weird having something follow you
The journalist should try tell your enemies not to build those weapon to be use on you. Better safe than Sorry.
Lol. As if this wont be turned on Americans. Silly sheep.
6:53… he is a douch bag just like Mark Zuckerberg in knowing from the jump they was going to sell out to the D.O.D.
Thank you to the academics who stand up to US government in trying to draw the line.
If you cross China's border illegally they will shoot you immediately, no warning, no excuse. Poor country won't protect their borders. Poorer countries deprives themselves from protecting it.
Libertarian building weapons for the state to oppress him lmao…
"This is not something that is put to a democratic process to deliberate"
Neither is anything else military related. There is no public process for people two choose whether or not they want the military's missiles to be more accurate.
Whittaker has to be the dumbest person I've ever seen. The military too brass are the experienced experts that need to have wholesale power to provide whatever technology and equipment in order to maximize military power
I really find a lot in common in mentality with this guy. Really cool guy
Those employees who are complaining , why do they think they are sleeping peacefully in their homes? It’s because of the defense forces. It’s-basic responsibility to support the forces rather than condemning anything. More over most of them are working on softwares to give more ads so it’s better to bring some meaning to your lives by atleast not obstructing the support
The government could use these gadgets to control and repress the population. That is also a risk
He’s not a libertarian. If anything, he’s a right wing authoritarian. The man doesn’t know the first thing about libertarianism.
https://youtu.be/HYMdR6cP8TE
Eventually one day all this will be turned on civilians, good luck.
Soooo they can smash a stationary drone but my aircraft does 80kmh and turns on a dime so really he is building useless crap
The company logo is the hilt of anduril sowrd of the west
ironic that employees of google, probably the creepiest surveillance operation and intelligence gathering organisation ever would criticise this guy – oh yeah, he doesnt share their politics… destroy him !
Drone? You poorly educated illiterates. Go get yourself a fkn education and learn the definition of 'drone', schoolboys!
