“Former President Donald Trump can’t find an insurance company to underwrite his bond to cover the massive judgment against him in the New York attorney general’s civil fraud case, his lawyers told a New York appeals court.

Trump’s attorneys said he has approached 30 underwriters to back the bond, which is due by the end of this month.”

  5. Boo hoo? This is the white collar equivalent of the way innocent regular people are held in jail until their months or years until their trial date because they’re low income and they don’t have the money to post bail.

  6. i love the poor banks part the best and why did the poor bank not verifiy his assets send an apreasier is that not what banks are suposed to do ?

  10. He just got the money needed, in addition to his merger going through and earning him 3.5 B in stocks, which he can liquidate in 6 months. This appeal though is going to significantly reduce Trump's fine. The 8th amendment has protections that prevents the government from imposing these types of excessive fines. The only way it will stand is if they can prove that the amount they fined him follows the standard for these types of cases, which it does not. The DA and this judge are just binding trump up in court because they think it is going to impact the elections. Trump, as usual, will come out just fine. If anything, with im winning the appeals or if the fine is reduced, it will just look like more political persecution to the public and his base, like in the other cases that he has come out on top, will just increase with more support at the polls. This strategy has been so bad for dems, but they keep at it like it is going to change anything other than make Trump more popular. So many people without a JD and no knowledge of the legal system come on and say so much bs about this, it's insane how people actually buy into it. You people need to get over it and just move on. If you are not in the legal profession and looking at this as a case study, then go do something more productive with your lives. Otherwise, you are just setting yourselves up for a meltdown.

  15. Banks determines how much you get and if Banks are paid back and they are happy. Where is the fraud then? You can tell they don't want to tell you the whole truth. Mark Cuben even said agreed with O'leary.

For all the cuts and cutting regulations etc that gained them more money , they should bail him out, as they want him to get back in and do more. It's the fact that you have a corrupt person ready to sell off the United States and ready to treat the United States badly and a person with this type of power does not need to have any money he needs to be broke that way he has no negative influence on any type of impact that impacts the United States and or its citizens that is why this person should be broke down and broke of money because he has already demonstrated the fact that he is a very ugly person and a very unloyal American and willing to sell off our secrets to foreign powers what part of that does not understand

  20. Anna forgets about the other side of the case. Trump inflated the value of his assets to get more favorable loans but de-valued them when it came to paying taxes. I would expect Anna to read the court documents before commenting on it.

  28. Anna asking a pretty silly question. If taxes in NY one penny while trump was doing his scam. So everyone in NY is a victim. Maybe 1 tax in NY would not have went up if trump paid his fair share to begin with.

  29. A few things, this was not the trial to prove he did it, it was the case to set the amount he owed. It was increased each time he tried to move financial assets out of NY without the court's approval. Second, he also undervalued his properties to the city and other places so he wouldn't need to pay as much in taxes.
