It's obvious a larger group is behind the student protests, orchestrating the gatherings and controlling the optics by providing scores of brand-new matching tents, black-and-white keffiyeh scarves and Palestinian flags to everyone willing to use/wear one. If a bunch of financially struggling students did this without help from outside organizers hiding in the shadows, the tent cities would be filled with a huge variety of different colors, sizes and shapes of tents. And I doubt there's a Middle-East boutique close to each school with enough keffiyeh scarves and flags in stock to supply hundreds of them on each campus. Nope, somebody ordered this stuff in bulk and handed it out with abandon, most likely with soundbite scripts and talking points to control the narrative. I hope the students who got arrested and/or expelled really believe it's worth trying to overcome a criminal record for the rest of their lives and delaying or completely losing their chance to finish their degrees. Methinks many will eventually regret being used as youthful pawns in a (probably PAC-funded) political chess game in which the only winners will be politicians and bureaucrats who've stayed at arm's length from the action.
