18. H horses are expensive! Even so, I doubt they were thoroughbreds. Maybe quarterhorses? They are sturdier than thoroughbreds. Thoroughbred racing horses are sometimes put down because of a broken leg. And skinny as their legs are (bred that way, probably for running), the legs probably would not hold up the horse's body and would need to be put down. But you don't have to shoot them. That's not even a sure method. Injection with an anesthetic then a lethal injection is what another Meidas Mighty poster said can be done. The vet comes around at the rancher's request and does it for a small fee.

    And three head of horses? One is hard enough! And expensive enough to lose the use of! Especially a quarterhorse IMO.

    If the animals aren't sick and she is offended by them, why not sell them? And if the goat stinks, first, why not take it to the vet and get it checked over?

    We are told if a cat pees outside the litter box, first take them to the vet to make sure nothing like kidney infection isn't happening. Why does she not get the vet to check her livestock periodically?
