Trump takes credit for Roe v. Wade reversal; says states should decide abortion laws

Former President Donald Trump took credit on Monday for ending the constitutional right to abortion but said the issue is now up to the states. CBS News senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang has more.

  4. Where in the constitution does it say that Abortion is a right. If it was then they would have had to make food a right. It's a slippery slope that's why our founders didn't make it a right. Many states have abortion, it's not gone. As a conservative I don't see unwanted pregnancy as an issue to where we should have abortions. How about practicing abstinence and birth control. When the birth control fails you put the kid up for adoption. While it is difficult to find an exact, accurate number to answer this question, Some sources estimate that there are about 2 million couples currently waiting to adopt in the United States — which means there are as many as 36 waiting families for every one child who is placed for adoption.

  7. 4:35 What is she talking about. We just established (with numbers on the screen) that 57% thought overturning Roe v Wade is bad. Trump is doubling down and she says 'he is moving away from views that are losing support for him'. This is UTTER RUBBISH and just sweet talking of Trump! He IS NOT moving away.
    Why on earth is CBS doing this. It's like Fox News.

  16. Needs a nationwide standard. Silly to think a couple moves to a different state for their job and suddenly they can become criminals. BTW, the proper headline would be, "incoherent statement by man-child seeks all the credit but takes no responsibility."

  19. Look around… There [isn't] going to be a 2024 election. Climate change is upside-down and every day we see an unprecedented natural crisis. Violence and crime are demonic and keep advancing from bad to worse. Famine is almost at one billion with critical food insecurities. Terrible diseases haven't ended and new airborne viruses emerge each day. Civil unrest exists in every country around the world. People truly believe a new president will fix all these things. Nope. No president in history has even ended poverty in any of the 50 states or hunger. Not one. The great tribulation will soon start. Are you ready? 🎒

  21. I blame Obama for not pushing for a Supreme Court appointment when there was a vacancy. He should have been on the news everyday pushing for it. Instead he did his usual lame behavior and never got anything done. So sure that Hillary would win he let it go. Worst president of my lifetime. Trump is correct he got Row Vs. Wade overturned by selecting Supreme Court justices that would rule on it.

And he's the only candidate that has the peoples back that includes everybody.

  31. That's what he has ALWAYS SAID, he is against Abortion but That the States should decide for themselves, per OUR CONSTITUTION. TOO LONG, the Federal Government has gone beyond their right to intervene in States rights. I Do not want Abortion but each State has its own sensibilities and as GOD gave us Each FREE WILL. Just be careful what you do with free will, if you value life and souls!
