   So let's select a different point of comparison. Let's say that the same number of cases reported in your community during the last 24hrs were for flesh-eating disease. People weren't dying, per se, but they were losing hands, feet, legs, cheeks, etc. Would you be concerned or would you say "Well, it's not overwhelming the emergency wards and the death rate is declining, so I guess I'm pretty safe". You can pick any of a number of serious communicable diseases. The point is that you wouldn't shrug any of those off, given the same incidence and case-counts. Yet because people lack patience and are too used to Covid reporting, they are willing to take risks they would not dream of taking for a wide range of other equally-serious diseases. People didn't and don't all die from polio, either. Would you risk contracting it by being blase about it?

22. I think a lot of people believe that now that most folks over 60+ are vaccinated, that the younger ones can take the risk of getting sick with COVID-19 and not suffer serious consequences.
