“Why Are The Hostages Not Being Mentioned?” Sunak Supports Biden’s Call For Ceasefire

Rishi Sunak has supported Joe Biden’s request for a 6-8 week ceasefire in Gaza which aims to allow essential supplies like food and medicine to enter the country.

It follows remarks from the US President who criticised Israel’s actions in the conflict, saying they are a ‘mistake’ in their handling of the war.

Sunak stated that the situation in Gaza is becoming ‘increasingly intolerable’ and that he and Biden are in agreement on this issue, both advocating for an immediate pause in fighting to facilitate the safe release of hostages.

The PM’s statement comes amid growing pressure both at home and internationally for Israel to end the conflict in Gaza.

The situation has led to a humanitarian crisis in Palestine, resulting in thousands of deaths and the killing of aid workers, including three British citizens in Israeli airstrikes.

TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan and Alex Phillips are joined by Jewish Telegraph’s Paul Harris to discuss the PM’s statement and the situation in Gaza.
