Yellen in China: The U.S. HATES capitalism and the environment

45

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has just wrapped up her latest trip to China, and despite being just 160cm tall, she claims to have spoken tough words with Beijing, including telling China to stop exporting affordable electric cars and solar technology.

Washington won’t tolerate it, she claims to have said.

But what about the environment? Does the U.S. really care? Today we’ll talk about it.

This is Reports on China, I’m Andy Boreham in Shanghai. Let’s get reporting!

  1. If the US is sincere about improving their rotten governance , she must really try hard to make it compulsory for all politicians to read all these " worldwide consistence comments " , seriously .

  2. Wow Andy, reports on China, you use to actually do reports on China, yes affordable Chinese care that cost over $100,000,00. How many people in China can afford one or the government telling the Chinese people only buy cars from Chinese companies. How about people that do business with the government and not bring paid. Be a real source of information and get deported out of the China or to a reeducation camp.

  3. The US has been spying on German Chancellor Angela Merkel's mobile phone since 2002, according to a report in Der Spiegel magazine.

Reference: US bugged Merkel's phone from 2002 until 2013, report claims

  4. US mentality requires Villains to feel Superior to and as targets for Contempt.
It's as though US political perception is shaped by Comics and Movies.

  5. Coming to China to warn them of the consequences of over production.. she must be very high after eating the mushrooms..no wonder she is just a excuse to come back for more just after 9 months.

  6. Which is worst, exporting affordable products for household and people or exporting high tech human killer machineries which causes millions of deaths, creating millions n millions of refugee and destroying towns n cities??

  7. Does it mean that in future Chinese-made aircrafts would only be allowed to fly within China? How about we just replace all US Boeings in future since their management is rotten and earning stinky salaries?

I wonder if their operation level ever wonders if they are reasonably paid since they are the ones doing the work and keeping the world safe.

  8. The US is all for global trade & pushes for globalization when its is way ahead of competition, but when a competitor catches up its alleged national security issues, government subsidies, economic dumping, etc. … the world is watching LOLs

  9. Western powers have demonstrated hypocrisy with plenty of examples, such as the genocide of indigenous people in the lands they colonized, joint genocide effort of Palestinians at Gaza, while spreading lies of the treatment of uighurs in Xinjiang. Instead of competing fairly Jake Sullivan's strategy is “small yard, high fence” to contain China. So much for the free market. Americans are very good at marketing, packaging their story to hide their hubris and duplicity: witness the US consulate arranged for multi-millionaire Yellen to have meals at Chinese restaurants, not held in the usual private rooms preferred by Chinese customers but out in the open area. All shows, no substance. As for the latest propaganda buzz word "overcapacity" which is a fake pretext for high tariff, watch American allies singing to the same tune. Ursula von der Leyen dutifully mouths the same words. To borrow what Hilary Clinton said about the Republicans: a despicable bunch.

  10. Just like school delinquents, if you cannot compete with the best student in class then bully him. This behavior is very real in schools as well as in the USA-China relationship. The usa is no longer a democratic country who propagates freedom of trade. It has become an authoritarian, hypocritical and warmongering country on the planet. However, the usa will not prevail against the resilience and power of China as the unipolar world order crumbles.

  12. Xi Jingpian hates capitalism. Andy, why you mocked Yellen when she "hates" the same thing as your CCP boss? You need to make yourself useful as a propaganda specialist. Your ethnicity cannot be your only credential for earning brownie points anymore as China's economy is tanking.

  13. US has blocked Chinese EV's from being sold in US. But this will not stop it being exported to the rest of the world. I can predict the next thing they will do – they will get their ally countries
from importing them, giving stupid excuses like, these EV's will be a security threat. That's how ridiculously childish these US politicians have become.

  14. This guy right – the USA is beating China, stopping it, bullying it, stalling and interfering and besting, outsmarting and tricking China like never before. China is really losing badly 🙁

  15. Jai Hinduja. China covertly built up overcapacity while US went to wars. Why don't US now use Gaddafi and Saddam's gold bullions, seized assets from Iran and Russia etc. to build up overcapacity?

  16. American society started with cowboys carrying g_u_n_s and ki11ing Indians or the indigenous people. Then progress from there to dropping nu_ks on the Japs. So what is their preferred or auto reaction in their DNA? First threaten, then destroy if you don't heed their warnings whenever they perceive a "threat" to their position of preeminence or dominance.

  17. US don’t wish poor average people to enjoy high tech and luxury items. It’s threatened US especially the rich one. US want the poor remain as it is, struggling in life so that they can be the dictator all the way.

  18. Just impose huge sanctions on made in China products, the rest of the world doesn’t care and will keep buying cost effective products from China.

  19. 2:45 ~ Precisely the point I’ve been trying to make on a number of other platforms. Capitalism is SUPPOSED to be all about keeping prices low through healthy competition; not trying to throttle competition to support higher inflation! I guess I should’ve come here first.. 😂 ❤

  20. I think so too. Is this the reason the US is trying so hard to woo Vietnam which is communist country that is an iron-clad ally of North Korea? Embracing communism to solve the deep wealth disparity in America? That's not a bad idea. LOL
